Sarah's beautiful design is based on traditional Ojibwe loom designs with a modern twist. "New Day weaves the contemporary and the traditional together," shares Sarah. "Native people are all these times woven together—past, present, and future—and the New Day design celebrates that synergy." In shades of teal blue, Sarah has surrounded a daybreak—the New Day—with symmetrical, geometric loom designs. The result is a flowing line of warmth, positivity, and love encircling your pet. "We have always made and given art to those we love," says Sarah, "and now we can share art with our four-legged best friends. Boozhoo (Hello)! My name is Sarah Agaton Howes, and I am an Anishinaabe-Ojibwe artist, teacher, and community organizer from the Fond du Lac Reservation in Minnesota. Widely known for my handmade regalia and moccasins featuring Ojibwe floral designs, I own and operate my own business, Heart Berry, to share contemporary Ojibwe art. I work to build a strong community by teaching about our cultural art, such as moccasins and beadwork, and creating tools like books and tutorials for Makers.
