Shipping and Return Policies

Order Processing Time

We aim to process all orders within 2–3 business days. Please note this is separate from shipping transit time. For example, if you place an order on Monday and select Priority shipping, your order may not ship until as late as Thursday.

Our shipping team operates Monday–Friday, excluding federal holidays and our annual holiday break (Dec 25–Jan 1). During high-volume times like Christmas or graduation season, processing times may be slightly delayed. We appreciate your patience!

 


Shipping Methods & Carriers

We offer shipping via:

  • USPS First Class and Priority Mail (Domestic and International)

  • UPS Ground

At our discretion, Eighth Generation may choose alternative carriers if needed. Note: UPS does not ship to PO Boxes — please use a physical address to avoid your package being returned. 

 


Shipping Transit Times

Shipping timelines provided at checkout (e.g., USPS Priority 2-Day) reflect the carrier’s estimated transit time only and do not include our 2–3 day order processing window.

Estimated delivery timelines are not guaranteed, especially during peak seasons or service disruptions (e.g., weather, COVID-related delays). 

United States

  • West Coast (Seattle area): 3–5 business days after shipping

  • Central U.S.: 5–7 business days

  • East Coast: 7–10 business days

Canada (USPS Priority)

    • 10–15 business days (customs processes may vary)

International (outside U.S. & Canada)

  • Estimated 2–4 weeks depending on destination and customs processing times.

  • For expedited shipping options (DHL, UPS Express), contact us for rate quotes.

Incorrect Address or Delivery Issues

Please double-check your shipping address before placing your order. If a package is returned to us due to an incorrect or incomplete address, we offer the following options:

  1. Reship your order: Additional shipping costs will apply.

  2. Refund as gift card: Original order value minus shipping costs.

  3. Refund to original payment: Original order value minus original shipping costs and any return shipping fees charged by the carrier.

 


Customs, Duties, and International Shipping Costs

At Eighth Generation, we are honored to ship Native-designed products around the world. However, please note that all international customers are fully responsible for any customs fees, import duties, taxes, or other charges imposed by their country’s customs regulations.

What You Need to Know:

  • Customs and duties are not included in the item price or shipping cost at checkout. These charges are imposed by the destination country and must be paid by the recipient upon delivery.

  • The exact amount of these fees varies by country. We recommend contacting your local customs office for an estimate of potential charges before placing your order.

  • Eighth Generation is not responsible for any customs fees, taxes, or duties incurred on international shipments. These fees are the sole responsibility of the buyer.

  • Delays caused by customs processing are also out of our control. Please allow additional time for delivery when ordering internationally, especially during holidays or high-volume seasons.

If You Refuse to Pay Customs Fees:

If an international package is rejected, refused, or returned to us due to non-payment of customs charges or duties:

  • You will be subject to a 15% restocking fee on the product(s) returned.

  • Original shipping costs will not be refunded.

  • If the package is not returned to us and is seized or destroyed by customs, no refund will be issued.

Address & Documentation:

  • Please ensure that your shipping address and contact information are accurate and complete when placing your order.

  • We are required by law to declare the full value of the package contents and cannot mark your order as a “gift” to avoid customs fees.

 


Returns & Refunds

Return Eligibility

We do not accept International returns. 

For USA orders, you may return unused items in original, resalable condition within 30 days of purchase. Items must be:

  • In original packaging

  • Free of wear, damage, pet hair, odors, stains, etc.

  • Shipped with your return request to info@eighthgeneration.com

Refunds will be issued after our team inspects the returned item. If approved, you will receive:

  • A full refund (minus shipping costs), or

  • A partial refund if the item is not in perfect condition

In some cases (e.g., defective items), we may cover return shipping.

 


Missing or Incorrect Items

If you believe there is a problem with your order (missing item, incorrect item, etc.), please contact us within 2 business days of delivery at info@eighthgeneration.com. We will do our best to make it right!

 


Exchanges

We do not currently offer direct exchanges. If you'd like a different item, please return your original item for a refund and place a new order.

 


Gift Returns

If you received Eighth Generation items as a gift and would like to return them, please email us within 30 days of delivery. You’ll receive a gift card for the order. 

 


Sustainability Commitment

We are dedicated to minimizing our environmental impact through:

  • Recyclable packaging (boxes, paper tape)

  • Biodegradable packing peanuts (made from water-soluble starch)

  • Minimal plastic usage across our packaging and shipping materials
