Customer Service & Administrative Specialist
Position Details
- Full time, non-exempt
- Pay: $23.50 - $24.50/hr (DOE)
- Hybrid work schedule
- HQ is in Seattle's Georgetown neighborhood
About the Role
The Customer Service Specialist provides quality customer service and administrative support to the Leadership team at Eighth Generation’s headquarters, interacting at all levels with staff, artists, and customers. Responsibilities & Essential Duties

Provides daily administrative support to executive team including data entry, drafting correspondence or other communications as directed by leadership, printing, scanning, mailing, maintaining records and filing systems etc.

Provides daily phone coverage at the Headquarters for all staff, inquiries, and customer questions

Assesses priorities and competing demands and adjusts allocation of time and resources to increase efficiency and effectiveness

Manages appointment scheduling, coordinating meeting logistics, and arranges accommodations and travel for Staff and Artists as needed, and coordinates food and catering orders for staff, artists, meetings, and other company events

Processes and distributes incoming communications (via mail, email, phone, etc.)

Participates in daily communications with customers via phone and email, and works with internal team to coordinate appropriate responses to resolve issues or customer questions

Work collaboratively with the Creative Director, Wholesale, Warehouse, Shipping, and Marketing staff as needed to ensure timely and high-quality customer service

Maintain good working order of all office equipment and machines, including ordering supplies for the office or scheduling service visits and/or performing periodic maintenance as needed

Assist leadership in hosting visitors, important guests, and leading tour groups at the Eighth Generation HQ

Exercises discretion and integrity with highly confidential & sensitive information
- Assist with organizing and planning for special events, speaking engagements, public appearances, or other internal events as needed

Perform additional duties, projects, and responsibilities as assigned in support of departmental and organizational needs
Qualifications Required (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

High School Diploma Required
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- 1+ Administrative or Customer Service or front-facing experience preferred
- Computer proficiency, experience working in Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Proficiency in operating standard office technology and equipment, including phones, computers, printers, scanners, and related systems

Strong awareness of the Native experience; personal experience with Indigenous and tribal communities preferred

Ability to communicate effectively about Eighth Generation values, business practices and processes with all levels of internal and external contacts

Extremely detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to bring tasks through to completion
-
Maintain a positive attitude and willingness to work with all team members, artists, and customers
-
Ability to exercise discretion concerning confidential or sensitive information
-
Ability to pass a background check
Physical Demands & Work Environment
May involve walking, moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing, and standing for at least two consecutive hours. May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders. Vision abilities include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. May involve lifting at least 30 lbs.
