Your Gift Guide for a Meaningful Mother’s Day

Shoutout to all the mamas! No matter who you’re celebrating — adoptive moms, biological moms, expecting moms, chosen moms, grandmothers and mother-in-laws — we owe a lot to the role models in our lives.

We curated a list of items to make the mothers in your life smile! Read on to learn about our beautiful, authentic Native-designed gifts. Thank you for supporting Inspired Natives™, not "Native-inspired!"

Wrap your mama in our "Inheritance" Wool Blanket!

This blanket is designed by Sarah Agaton Howes (Anishinaabe) in collaboration with Eighth Generation’s Inspired Natives™ Project!

This stunning design pays homage to an Anishinaabe tradition, where the Bear Clan are known as carriers of medicine. Here, the mother carries the medicine while protecting the future generation. This art illustrates the story of “Inheritance," as we inherit our gifts both spiritual and physical from our ancestors, we must also consider what we will give.

Our Native-made wool scarves and intricate Cedar Bough jewelry are two stunning choices for mom!

This "First Light" Scarf designed by Muckleshoot & Chehalis weaver Gail White Eagle is made right in our Seattle studio with 100% Merino wool. The design represents illumination, ripple effect and sharing. Through the design on this scarf, Gail hopes to share positive light and energy with anyone who receives it!

Our Cedar Bough Earrings and Necklace are cast locally by artisans in Seattle’s Fremont neighborhood and assembled in our Seattle studio! This elegant gift is intended to be a gentle reminder that all people are connected to the land.

Towels are back and just in time for warmer weather!

This "Ribbons" Beach Towel features the bold design by award-winning artist and fashion designer Jamie Okuma (Luiseño/Shoshone-Bannock) based on her own ribbon work. This design is representative of the geometric aesthetic of the Plateau/Great Basin/Plains region. Jamie describes these colors as “old time colors,” which are a few of her favorite to bead with and use in ribbon work.

Celebrate the resiliency of the mother figures in your life!

The "Resilient" Earrings designed by renown Plains Indian Graphic Artist and Inspired Natives™ Collaborator John Isaiah Pepion (Blackfeet)! These beautiful earrings are assembled by hand in our Seattle studio and made from acrylic that is cut and high resolution printed with multiple layers of protective coating.

Our mugs are also a perfect addition for a Mother's Day gift! This "Coast Salish Pattern" Mug features the design by Louie Gong (Nooksack). Louie designed the Coast Salish Patter after studying traditional Coast Salish weaving. Although our high-quality mugs are created using modern technology, it was critical for Louie to design artwork that could be replicated with traditional Coast Salish weaving methods.
