Please note: This run of our Morning Star Earrings has slightly thicker posts than most of our earrings. These posts are close to a 16 gauge, where a standard earring post is 18 gauge (one size smaller than 16).
In Blackfeet (Piikani) culture, Morning Star is the son of Moon and Sun: he is a great hero and the focus of many legends. As a symbol, Morning Star is represented as a cross made of four triangles, and is often painted on medicine lodges. “The Morning Star symbol brings you luck, positive dreams, and blessings,” shares Piikani artist and educator John Isaiah Pepion, designer of our Morning Star Earrings.
Supported by a trendy gold "huggie" finding, a golden Morning Star sways with your every step, bringing a twinkle of light to your face. Four red enamel triangles accent the gold points, adding a touch of bold color to this classic shape.
The body of our Morning Star Earrings are gold plated over stainless steel with enamel accents, while the post portion is stainless steel, making them a comfortable wear for even sensitive ears.
