The spiral of a snail's shell or the symmetry of a sunflower—nature has its own beautiful geometry hidden in plain sight. Anishinaabe-Ojibwe artist Sarah Agaton Howes highlights this merger of the linear and organic in her Natural Geometry Throw Blanket. 

"I love to go back to my roots as a beadwork artist," shares Sarah. "The borders of traditional beadwork are so beautiful, and are often geometric renditions of our florals." Sarah has designed classic beadwork borders to flow across her Natural Geometry Throw Blanket in shades of blue and coral. "I love to use these old bead color palettes," Sarah shares of her color choices. "They are so classic, and are the inspiration for this blanket."

Made from ultra-soft 100% cotton, this throw blanket is perfect for cozy evenings at home. This is a new style of cotton throw blanket for Eighth Generation, the special jacquard weave uses custom-dyed yarns and a denser weave structure. They have an incredibly soft feel, and while they feel thicker than some cotton throw blankets on the market, they are lightweight enough to still work for transitional seasons.

Boozhoo (Hello)! My name is Sarah Agaton Howes, and I am an Anishinaabe-Ojibwe artist, teacher, and community organizer from the Fond du Lac Reservation in Minnesota. Widely known for my handmade regalia and moccasins featuring Ojibwe floral designs, I own and operate my own business, Heart Berry, to share contemporary Ojibwe art.
