In celebration of fifty years of championing the education and development of our Native children, the National Indian Education Association (NIEA) worked together with Eighth Generation to create this stunning Education Sovereignty Wool Blanket.
Formed by Native educators in 1969 to encourage a national conversation on Native education, the NIEA is a cornerstone of education sovereignty and Native culture development. The organizers and educators of NIEA have worked tirelessly for over fifty-one years to improve the education of Native children, to promote the continued development of Native cultures and languages, and to work with policymakers at all levels to safeguard Native education. Their 2022 theme—Education Sovereignty—is a rallying cry for all those who wish to ensure Native children have access to their cultural heritage and learnings.
Our Education Sovereignty Wool Blanket is a classic, striking design, featuring a four-pointed star on a blue background surrounded by concentric circles bordered by vivid red bands. This authentic, Native-designed wool blanket is made of 100% wool for both warmth and softness. The perfect gift for a teacher, professor, or anyone who values language and learning.
