We teamed up with
NDN Collective and esteemed artist Votan Henriquez (Maya and Nahua) to launch this stunning wool blanket on International Women's Day 2021. The Defend Wool Blanket pays homage to the power of women
as well as the collective voice that united all Indigenous people during the Standing Rock pipeline protests. The bullhorn is symbolic of the amplification of Native voices and the winter count design in the background represents the connection of Native people to their traditions.
When you wrap yourself in this blanket, Votan hopes you feel empowered. “Indigenous movements have risen up for centuries, defending our lands and rights,” Votan says. “It is now our moment in time to honor those who gave up so much so we could be here. It is our time to show up for those to come.”
