Our Gold Label baby blankets are now machine washable! Made with a Merino wool and cotton-blend yarn, these are our softest blankets yet, now featuring the warmth of wool and the convenience of cotton. Our baby blankets are a wonderfully warm way to cuddle with your kiddo, or spread out on the floor make a soft surface for tummy-time.
The high-contrast black-and-white pattern of our Coast Salish Pattern Baby Blanket make an eye-catching pattern for a newborn's range of vision, while being a design that's just as lovely in a traditional nursery as it is in a more modern setting.
Made right in our Seattle studio as part of our Gold Label Collection, our Coast Salish Pattern Baby Blanket was designed by Louie Gong (Nooksack) after researching traditional Coast Salish weaving. He often refers to this pattern as a "collaboration with the ancestors," as it was created after researching traditional Coast Salish weaving. Although our blankets are created using modern technology, it was critical to Louie that he create a design that could be replicated with traditional Coast Salish weaving methods.
Though Coast Salish art is Indigenous to a broad geographic area that includes Seattle and Vancouver, it is rarely represented in public art or contemporary textiles. Over the years, we have featured Louie's Coast Salish Pattern design on several blankets and other products, bringing this often overlooked artform to the forefront of Native art and design.
