Made right here in our Seattle studio, this lightweight, 100% Merino wool scarf is designed by world-renowned tattoo artist Kira Murillo (Shoshone-Bannock). One of the most popular Native tattoo artists, Kira is known for her modern take on traditional Shoshone-Bannock floral motifs and unique colorblock style.

In the Growing Tradition Scarf, rows of tulips meet along the centerline, their stems separated by a repeating pattern of triangles. The flowers in this design are special to Kira, as their design is inspired by one for the first tattoos she did on a family member. “I’ve mastered florals because of how much florals appear in our regalia,” says Kira. As her signature motif, florals are featured heavily in her work with Eighth Generation and her tattoos. “The past couple years the majority of the tattoos I’ve done have featured some kind of floral,” she shares.

The traditional, muted color palette grounds the scarf in the historic tradition, while the modernity of the design brings it forward into the twenty-first century. This scarf is perfect for anyone who wants to feel connected to their roots.
