Made right in our Seattle studio, this light-weight, 100% Merino wool scarf was designed by Eighth Generation founder Louie Gong (Nooksack). He added a touch of Huckleberry to the popular "Coast Salish Pattern" design as an homage to his grandpa, who often picked huckleberries.
Louie has an especially fond memory of his grandpa Peter. One day when he was a kid, a news truck showed up on the long gravel road that led to his childhood home. They came upon Louie's grandpa, who was picking huckleberries at the time. The next evening, the family was excited to huddle near the TV to watch grandpa get "famous." Unfortunately, the station had a technical problem with the film, so the news anchor instead held the old school film reel and exclaimed, "Peter Gong says huckleberries are sweet!"
